Beringia Community Planning

Planning Together to Strengthen Community Self-Determination

Beringia works collaboratively with Indigenous & First Nations communities to strengthen community health and relations, respect and honour culture, promote land stewardship and generate economic independence for current and future generations.

Planning Invitation

We are excited about the opportunity to connect with your community and learn about your unique planning interests and needs.

Our team at Beringia has several decades of experience supporting community-led planning processes across Canada that honour the diversity of Indigenous communities and ancient practices of community-led planning and governance. We value building strong relationships based on respect, trust, listening and applied learning. Our approach empowers communities to decide their own future based on self-determination, strength and positive change.

We look forward to hearing from you and learning how we might work with your community in a good way.

Our Approach

Beringia brings an innovative, holistic and integrative approach to our participatory, community-based planning practice. We honour local culture, history, knowledge, values, customs and storytelling based on recognition and strength. Principles of collaboration, community development, social inclusion and transformative learning also guide our relationships and community work.

Communities We Have Worked With

Since 1998, Beringia Community Planning has worked with Indigenous (First Nation, Métis, Inuit and Urban Aboriginal) groups and agencies to support comprehensive, holistic and interdisciplinary approaches and processes to community planning. Below are a few of our partners we have had the honour to work with.

Projects We Have Worked On

Beringia works collaboratively with Indigenous & First Nation communities on all types of planning projects ranging from comprehensive, sector and project plans, to research and mentorship, and implementation and evaluation. Each project is diverse and wide ranging. We listen to the needs of each community to co-create planning and development initiatives. Our work supports community-led projects, processes and outcomes.
