KFN Reconciliation

Beringia was invited to support Kwikwetlem First Nation’s negotiations for a Reconciliation Agreement with the Province of BC and municipal parties. An Agreement has potential to address a range of concerns and grievances and bring various benefits to current and future KFN Members. Beringia’s support for this process includes facilitation and engagement design, communicating with Members, data analysis, and process design.
ICDNS Implementation and Evaluation Project – Advisor and Project Coordination

Beringia is supporting the mobilization of an Implementation and Evaluation of the Indigenous Community Development National Strategy (ICDNS). Beringia’s support for this process has included mobilizing the Indigenous Advisors, conducting environmental scans in each region, documenting regional enablers, supporting national Zoom meetings, strategy development and communications support. The three main themes under the ICDNS include project management, change management and process management, as these systems change components support the four pillars and 10 government functions of the ICDNS.
Tsawwassen First Nation – Member Benefits Framework Project

Beringia launched a Member Benefits Framework Project in cooperation with Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) staff and MVH Urban Planning & Design to hear TFN community member needs, concerns and opportunities related to member benefits and learn how TFN can create meaningful benefits from the project activities and partnership agreements occurring in TFN territory.

Together for Safety Protocol – Yukon Women’s Transition Home Society and RCMP

Following the Together for Justice Protocol, the Whitehorse RCMP detachment signed the Together for Safety Protocol a few months later, which formalized the intent of the RCMP and the Whitehorse women’s groups to work together to improve the safety of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women in Whitehorse.
City of Campbell River – Sustainable Official Community Plan and Governance Project

As Planning Advisor to the City of Campbell River, Beringia completed a review of the municipality’s Sustainable Official Community Plan (SOCP). This included facilitating a Governance and Partnership Strategy with three local First Nations and the City of Campbell River in an exciting process that brought four governments together to build new relationships and ways of working together.
