Beringia supported the Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society’s (LAWS) team on the 2020 award submission which received recognition as Finalist for the Northern Centre for Justice, Dignity and Leadership.

Beringia and Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council were awarded GOLD for Our Sacred Land: Indigenous Peoples’ Land Use Planning Handbook in BC – in the PIBC category “Policy Planning – Small Town & Rural Areas.”

On September 7, 2017, Sarah Gillett from Beringia Community Planning joined Kaska Elder Fannie Vance, Youth for Safety participant Piper Allen, and facilitator Julie Laliberte to accept the IAP2 Core Values Award for Indigenous Engagement at a gala in Denver Colorado.

On September 10, 2015, in Portland, Oregon, Jeff Cook and the Pikangikum Health Authority were recognized by the International Association for Public Participation, Canada for our work with the Pikangikum First Nation on its health plan entitled “Working It Out Together.”

Beringia and Pikangikum Health Authority have won the Award for Planning Excellence for Aboriginal Community Planning and Development for “Our Healing Journey: Pikangikum First Nation’s Comprehensive Community Health Plan”!

Pikangikum First Nation’s health planning process is an inspiring example of a community overcoming many challenges to work at healing and building a stronger future. Under the leadership of the Pikangikum Health Authority (PHA) and planning support from Beringia Community Planning Inc., Pikangikum has completed an innovative and comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) entitled “Working It Out Together: Pikangikum First Nation’s Community Health Needs Assessment.”
